Growing up with brothers and cousins I learned to be very competitive, especially in sports. PE was my favorite subject in school. I loved being part of a team and I want to help others experience that feeling. That's why I want to be a PE teacher. Also, because I get my summers off. =D.
Many people think of literacy purely as being able to read and write. I believe literacy consists of a broader spectrum. When teaching a subject in PE, a lot of what you teach is done through demonstration. As a student you need to be able to interpret what you see and apply it.
Is that your wedding picture? Oh my gosh, that is GREAT!! I don't think I've ever seen one with such personality. You really meant it when you said not to mess with your brothers.
ReplyDeleteI am the shortest in my family, with a brother who's 6 foot ten, a dad who's six foot eight, and a whole slew of cousins who are 6' 8 or higher. I even have one cousin who's 7 feet tall and a good 500+ pounds. So I know what you mean when you say, "Don't mess with my family." Although I don't think any of my family can carry a gun like yours does. :)

Hello Lindsey, I just thought that I would let you know that it has been a pleasure having you in many of my classes and I am really glad we share the same enthusiasm about our future "summers off!!"
ReplyDeleteI am glad that you chose to be a PE teacher and think that you would do a very good job at it. Just make sure that you are always having fun with it and don't become like the teacher that everyone knows is grumpy and mean, those teachers suck.
